Terms for using JUZZ
By accessing JUZZ, you agree to use the service lawfully and respectfully. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
The service
JUZZ lets you listen to and read the Quran in a browser: recitation from 75 reciters, Arabic text with translation, favourites, recents, ayah-by-ayah progress, and a mushaf reading mode. None of it needs an account. It is a small project, and features sometimes change or get pulled.
Accounts and sessions
Sign-in goes through Google via Neon Auth. Keep your Google account safe and sign out on shared machines, and do not touch someone else’s session. When you sign in, guest data on the device merges into the account: favourites union, latest playback position, and the bigger count wins.
Public profiles
You can set a username and picture and share a profile that shows your join date and activity totals, and you can flip it private whenever you like. Do not pick names or pictures that impersonate someone, break the law, or step on anyone’s rights.
Acceptable use
Use JUZZ for listening and study like anyone else. Do not attack it, break into it, scrape it in a way that hurts it for others, pretend to be JUZZ, or strip attribution from third-party content.
Quran text, translations, audio, and portraits
A lot of the content here is not mine: recitations, translations and portraits belong to their sources and stay under those sources’ terms. The full list is on Sources & accuracy.
Downloads
A download button, where one shows up, does not hand you extra rights. The source licence still applies, so check it before you redistribute or sell anything.
Accuracy and religious use
The data is checked carefully, but software and network content make mistakes. For anything that matters, verify quotations, recitation details, and religious questions against a printed mushaf and a scholar you trust.
Availability and warranties
The site is provided as is. There is no promise of uninterrupted access, flawless playback, or that your saved data lasts forever.
Limitation of liability
As far as the law allows, I am not liable for indirect or consequential loss from using JUZZ or the third-party services it leans on.
Changes
These terms change when the product or the law changes. Keeping the site open after an update means you accept the new version.
