Quran for driving
Recitation for the car, chosen for a commute length, with one-tap playback and no controls to touch while driving.
That recording would not load from the CDN. Open it on the surah page.
For the car, the constraint is different from everywhere else: you cannot touch the phone. So the right choice is a single long surah started once, not a playlist you manage.
A typical commute is 20 to 40 minutes. Surah Ya-Sin is about 17 minutes, Al-Kahf about 33, and Aal-E-Imran about 75. Start the one that matches your drive and leave it alone.
One thing worth doing: start it before you pull away. Fiddling with a phone at a traffic light is the risk, and it is avoidable.
What to recite
Which surah for which drive
Ten minutes: Al-Mulk, or Ad-Duha through An-Nas. Twenty minutes: Ya-Sin. Forty minutes: Al-Kahf, with a few minutes to spare. Over an hour: Aal-E-Imran, or Al-Baqarah if you are on a long road.
Questions
Is listening to the Quran while driving permissible?
Yes. There is no prohibition on hearing recitation while driving, and many people do. The one condition worth keeping is that it does not distract you from driving.
What is the best surah for a commute?
One that matches the length of the drive and that you can start once without touching the phone. Ya-Sin for 17 minutes, Al-Kahf for 33, Aal-E-Imran for 75.
